Responsibilities

• Interpret and read blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials.
• Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and other materials.
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
• Build frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
• Install trim, hardware, and other finishing touches.
• Use various hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed on the job site.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a carpenter.
• Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods.
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
• Proficiency in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools.
• Excellent understanding of carpentry materials and construction methods.
• Physical stamina and strength to handle the demanding nature of the work.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or vocational training.
• Certification as a Journeyman Carpenter (preferred but not mandatory).
• Basic math skills and ability to calculate measurements and angles accurately.
• Safety training certifications (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid, etc.) are an asset.

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
