Responsibilities
- Interpret and read blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials.
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and other materials.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
- Build frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
- Install trim, hardware, and other finishing touches.
- Use various hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed on the job site.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a carpenter.
- Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods.
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
- Proficiency in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools.
- Excellent understanding of carpentry materials and construction methods.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle the demanding nature of the work.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or vocational training.
- Certification as a Journeyman Carpenter (preferred but not mandatory).
- Basic math skills and ability to calculate measurements and angles accurately.
- Safety training certifications (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid, etc.) are an asset.
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
